The First Generation Plus Success Center at USC (FG+SC) serves as a resource hub for current first-generation, undocumented, transfer, and former foster youth students as they navigate campus. Our mission is to foster a sense of belonging and a culture of holistic well-being through intentional mentorship, supportive services, and leadership opportunities.
We encourage and empower the USC community to embrace and celebrate the multiplicity of identities the first-generation college student population holds.
Goals & Objectives
- Connect first-generation+ college students to resources, support services, and engagement opportunities on campus that will enhance their overall student experience;
- Provide community building opportunities for peer-to-peer interaction to discuss and process similar social, emotional, and academic experiences
- Foster meaningful peer and faculty/staff relationships;
- Provide leadership and mentorship opportunities to enhance students’ personal growth and professional development.
First Generation Plus Success Center
The First Generation Plus Success Center, located in TCC 224, serves as a resource hub for first generation, former foster youth, and undocumented students at USC. The space is intended to serve as a place for community-building and information sharing. Students are welcome to visit between the hours of 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
